Truskmore from Bog Road via Tormore, the Dam and Mines

Starting from a small car park space (7/8 cars) at Glencar lough, this hike takes in the County highpoints of Sligo (Truskmore 647m) and Leitrim (Truskmore S/E cairn 631m). Starting up the bog road for 1.6K, you then cut off and follow the escarpment for approx 3k, over as far as the Dam, on the way passing over along the top of the Sruth in Aghaidh an Aird Waterfall. From there you start to climb up to and around the old Barytas mines at Glencarbury, linking up to the Miners track before cutting across the bog for approx 1.5k to get onto the Truskmore service road which will then take you to the summit trig itself. The Leitrim high point cairn lies around 500m away in a South Easterly direction. From there you start descending and follow the bog for approx 2k until you come back onto the Bog Road which takes you back down to the starting point.
