Around the 3 km (1.86 miles) mark, you'll come across the ruins of an old castle, a testament to the region's rich history. This area was once a strategic point during medieval times, and the remnants of the castle walls provide a glimpse into the past. As you continue, the trail opens up to a series of scenic viewpoints. The most notable one is located approximately 4.5 km (2.8 miles) into the hike, offering panoramic views of the Fichtelgebirge mountains. This is an excellent spot for a break and some photography.
The latter part of the trail descends through a lush valley, where you'll find a variety of plant species, including wildflowers and ferns. This section is particularly beautiful in the spring and early summer when the flora is in full bloom.
The final 1.5 km (0.93 miles) of the loop brings you back towards Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge. This section is relatively flat and easy, allowing you to cool down and reflect on the hike. As you approach the end, you'll pass by a small stream, adding a soothing soundtrack to your journey.
