To reach the trailhead, you can drive or use public transport. If driving, set your GPS to the nearest known address: Hauptstraße 1, 66996 Fischbach bei Dahn, Germany. There is parking available near the trailhead. For those using public transport, take a train to the nearest station at Hinterweidenthal Ort, and from there, a local bus or taxi can take you to the trailhead.
The trail begins with a gentle ascent through a dense forest, where you will be surrounded by towering trees and the soothing sounds of nature. As you progress, the path becomes more rugged, with occasional rocky sections that require careful footing. The initial climb is about 50 meters (164 feet) over the first kilometer (0.6 miles).
At around the 1.5 km (0.9 miles) mark, you will come across the Wolfsdeller Hals, a scenic viewpoint offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This is an excellent spot to take a break and enjoy the natural beauty of the Südwestpfalz region.
Continuing on, the trail leads you to Mehrsberg, another notable viewpoint. Here, you can see the remnants of historical significance, including ancient boundary stones that date back to medieval times.
