#### Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis to Buhl The first section of the trail takes you through the picturesque landscapes of the Black Forest. As you ascend, you'll gain about 200 meters (656 feet) in elevation over the first 5 km (3.1 miles). The forest here is rich with towering pines and a variety of wildlife, including deer and numerous bird species. Keep an eye out for the occasional fox or wild boar.
#### Buhl to Grimmelshofen After reaching Buhl, the trail continues towards Grimmelshofen. This section is slightly more challenging, with an additional 200 meters (656 feet) of elevation gain over the next 7 km (4.4 miles). The path here is more rugged, with rocky outcrops and steeper inclines. You'll pass through several small streams and might even spot some rare flora, such as the Black Forest orchid.
