The journey begins at Grasgehren, a popular ski and hiking area, easily accessible by car or public transport. If you're driving, you can park at the Grasgehren ski resort. For those using public transport, take a train to Fischen im Allgäu and then a bus to Grasgehren.
Trail Highlights and Navigation
As you set off from Grasgehren, the trail quickly ascends, offering breathtaking views of the Allgäu Alps. The first significant landmark is the Rangiswanger Horn, standing at 1,615 meters (5,299 feet). This peak provides panoramic vistas of the surrounding valleys and mountains, making it a perfect spot for a short break. The ascent to Rangiswanger Horn is steep and requires careful footing, especially in wet conditions.
Continuing along the ridge, the trail leads you to the Weiherkopf, another prominent peak at 1,665 meters (5,463 feet).
