About 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you’ll come across the picturesque Isar River. The riverbanks are lined with dense forests, offering a serene environment and the opportunity to spot local wildlife such as deer, foxes, and various bird species. Keep an eye out for the European beaver, which has been successfully reintroduced to the area.
As you continue along the Josef Breher Weg, the trail meanders through mixed woodlands and open meadows. The final stretch of the trail leads you through the charming town of Grünwald. The trail ends at Derbolfinger Platz, a central square in Grünwald. Here, you can find several cafes and restaurants to relax and enjoy a meal after your hike.
