A la découverte du Plateau des Glières

Very interesting and without difficulty to discover the history and the natural environments of the Plateau des Glières located at 1500 m altitude in the massif of Bornes (34 kms from Annecy).

It is a major place of resistance in Haute-Savoie. "Here men have died to remain men..." It is also a privileged site for agro-pastoral activity. The first part of the walk is on a wide stony path, punctuated by panels tracing the history of the maquisards. A trail winding through the forest takes you back to the second part to the iconic historic monument of the Plateau des Glières. If you do not want to take your picnic, you can taste the Savoyard specialties in different typical mountain restaurants. The camera is de rigueur because you are surrounded by sumptuous panoramas.
