#### Orrest Head About 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll reach Orrest Head, a modest hill offering panoramic views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells. This viewpoint is historically significant as it was the first fell climbed by Alfred Wainwright, the famous British fellwalker and author.
#### Troutbeck Village Continuing for another 4 km (2.5 miles), you'll descend into the quaint village of Troutbeck. This charming village is home to traditional Lakeland cottages and the historic Jesus Church, dating back to the 16th century. It's a great spot to take a break and perhaps enjoy a snack.
#### Robin Lane As you leave Troutbeck, the trail ascends gradually along Robin Lane. This section is about 3 km (1.9 miles) long and offers stunning views of the Troutbeck Valley. The path is well-marked but can be rocky in places, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
#### Wansfell Pike Around the 10 km (6.2 miles) mark, you'll reach the summit of Wansfell Pike. Standing at 487 meters (1,598 feet), this peak provides breathtaking views of Ambleside, Windermere, and the surrounding fells. The climb is steep but manageable, and the reward is well worth the effort.
