Trail Overview

The trail begins near the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, where you will find clear signage directing you towards the path. The initial section of the trail is relatively gentle, allowing you to warm up as you walk through lush meadows and past ancient stone walls. After about 1 km (0.6 miles), you will start to ascend more steeply.

Dungeon Ghyll Force Viewpoint

At approximately 1.5 km (0.9 miles) into the hike, you will reach the Dungeon Ghyll Force Viewpoint. This stunning waterfall cascades down a narrow ravine, creating a mesmerizing sight. The viewpoint offers a perfect spot for a short break and some photography. The elevation gain to this point is around 150 meters (492 feet).

Ascending to Stickle Tarn
