Loop
From the start in the car park opposite the doctor’s surgery, exit the carpark on the non-road side going into the village green, turn right. At the end of the green follow the pavement bearing right, walking towards the lake known as Hangman’s Pool or The Flash. Continue straight, keeping the lake on your right. Look out for the path bearing right to continue walking around the lake. Walk for approx. 700 metres to reach a children’s play area. On the way, there is a forked path beside a lamp-post. There is an opportunity, here, to take the left-hand path to the subway to see the murals and return to the path afterwards, or to continue on the right-hand path as far as the play area. Continue straight on, over two bridges as far as the bench near an information board. The path will rise and meet a left-hand turn that follows the edge of the wood, (if you come to some steps you have missed the turn). Go down the slope and at the bottom of the slope turn left behind a school. Keeping the school on the right, continue straight, passing a waste bin at a junction of four paths until reaching a left-hand turn with a bench in sight, just before arriving at the road. This path leads to an underpass to safely arrive on the other side of the road. From the underpass the path rises to meet a road. Turn right and continue along the pavement to reach a zebra crossing by the playing fields. Having crossed the road, turn right and continue straight, passing the playing fields and Holy Trinity Academy on the left. At the end of the road there is a mini roundabout. Go straight over the roundabout towards a five-barred gate. To the right of the gate is an entrance, go through and bearing right follow the public footpath, keeping the yacht masts on the left. The path rises when it bears right and advances towards the bridge over the M54. Ignore the bridge and continue straight keeping the motorway on the left. This path will meet the road leading to the Lion Inn. Keep the motorway on the left past a small housing estate Walk ahead to Priorslee House Care Home (on the left) and take the pedestrian path on the right to walk through Priorslee Village. Go straight through, ignoring any lefthand turns, passing a road on the right, passing the group of four cottages on the right, going downhill and bearing right to reach the main road. Turn right and walk to the brick-built bus stop next to the red post box. Cross the road here. On the other side, turn right. Walk straight ahead, crossing Derwent Drive and continue forwards keeping the Village Green on the left. At the waste bin, turn left to follow the path round the Village Green and return to the car park.
