If using public transport, take a train to Morpeth and then a bus to Rothbury. From Rothbury, it's a short taxi ride to Cragside.### Trail Overview The trail begins at Cragside House, a Victorian country house known for being the first in the world to be lit by hydroelectric power. As you start your hike, you'll be surrounded by lush woodlands and the serene Nelly's Moss lakes. The lakes are a perfect spot for birdwatching, with species such as herons and kingfishers often spotted.### Cragside Maze Approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll encounter the Cragside Maze.
