Upon reaching Cairn Hill, you'll find a cairn marking the summit. This is an excellent spot for a brief rest and some photos before continuing towards The Cheviot, the highest peak in the Cheviot Hills. The path from Cairn Hill to The Cheviot is about 5 km (3 miles) and involves a further elevation gain of 200 meters (656 feet).
By the time you complete the Cairn Hill and The Cheviot Peak Walk, you'll have experienced some of the finest landscapes and historical sites that Northumberland has to offer.
