#### North Bay to Peasholm Park The first section of the trail takes you along the North Bay, where you can enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the shore. After approximately 1.5 km (0.9 miles), you'll reach Peasholm Park, a beautiful oriental-themed park that dates back to 1912. The park features a tranquil lake, lush gardens, and even a pagoda, making it a great spot for a short break.
#### Peasholm Park to Scarborough Castle Continuing from Peasholm Park, the trail heads towards Scarborough Castle, a historic fortress that has stood since the 12th century. The path here is slightly uphill, contributing to the trail's total elevation gain. After about 3 km (1.9 miles) from the start, you'll arrive at the castle. The views from the castle grounds are breathtaking, offering panoramic vistas of the North Sea and the surrounding countryside.
#### Scarborough Castle to South Bay From the castle, the trail descends towards South Bay, passing through the charming old town of Scarborough. This section is rich in history, with cobbled streets and traditional English architecture. After approximately 5 km (3.1 miles) into the hike, you'll find yourself at South Bay Beach, another beautiful stretch of coastline. #### South Bay to Oliver's Mount Leaving South Bay, the trail heads inland towards Oliver's Mount, a prominent hill offering some of the best views in Scarborough. This section involves a moderate climb, adding to the overall elevation gain. After about 7 km (4.3 miles), you'll reach the summit of Oliver's Mount, where you can take in the sweeping views of the town and the coastline.
#### Oliver's Mount to North Bay The final section of the trail descends back towards North Bay, completing the loop. This part of the hike is relatively easy, allowing you to relax and enjoy the final stretch. As you approach the end of the trail, you'll pass through some lovely wooded areas, adding a touch of tranquility to your hike.
