#### Levisham Village Starting from Levisham, the trail immediately immerses you in the charm of this quaint village. Traditional stone cottages and the historic Levisham Church set the scene, offering a glimpse into the area's rich heritage.
#### Levisham Moor As you ascend towards Levisham Moor, you'll gain approximately 100 meters (328 feet) in elevation over the first 2 km (1.2 miles). The moor is a haven for wildlife, including red grouse and curlew. The expansive views across the North York Moors National Park are breathtaking, especially during sunrise or sunset.
#### Hole of Horcum Around the 4 km (2.5 miles) mark, you'll encounter the Hole of Horcum, a natural amphitheater-like depression that is 400 meters (1,312 feet) wide and 120 meters (394 feet) deep. Local legend attributes its creation to a giant scooping out the earth, but geologists explain it as a result of glacial meltwater erosion. This landmark is a must-see and offers excellent photo opportunities.
#### Levisham Beck Descending towards Levisham Beck, the trail becomes more shaded and cooler, with a gentle decline of about 50 meters (164 feet) over the next 1.5 km (0.9 miles). The beck is a serene spot, perfect for a short rest. Keep an eye out for kingfishers and otters that frequent the waterway.
#### Skelton Tower At approximately 6 km (3.7 miles), you'll reach Skelton Tower, a 19th-century ruin perched on a hilltop. Originally a hunting lodge, the tower offers panoramic views of the surrounding moorland and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway below. It's a great spot to pause and take in the scenery.
