Levisham Moor

As you ascend towards Levisham Moor, you'll gain approximately 100 meters (328 feet) in elevation over the first 2 km (1.2 miles). The moor is a haven for wildlife, including red grouse and curlew. The expansive views across the North York Moors National Park are breathtaking, especially during sunrise or sunset.

Around the 4 km (2.5 miles) mark, you'll encounter the Hole of Horcum, a natural amphitheater-like depression that is 400 meters (1,312 feet) wide and 120 meters (394 feet) deep. Local legend attributes its creation to a giant scooping out the earth, but geologists explain it as a result of glacial meltwater erosion. This landmark is a must-see and offers excellent photo opportunities.
