The beach is also a great spot for birdwatching, especially during the migratory seasons when various species of waders and seabirds can be seen.

Approximately 3 km (1.9 miles) from the start, you'll come across the site of the Roman Fort of Branodunum. These areas are rich in wildlife, and you may encounter a variety of birds, such as avocets, redshanks, and marsh harriers. The marshlands are also home to small mammals like water voles and the occasional otter.

Navigation and Safety

Given the flat terrain and well-marked paths, navigation is straightforward. However, it's always a good idea to have a reliable navigation tool like HiiKER to ensure you stay on track. The trail can be muddy in sections, especially after rain, so waterproof footwear is recommended. Additionally, be mindful of the tides when walking near the beach, as the water can rise quickly.
