The Trail Experience

As you begin your journey, you'll be enveloped by the lush landscapes that Kew Gardens is famous for. The trail will take you past a variety of plant collections, including the iconic Palm House, a Victorian glasshouse filled with a rainforest climate and exotic palms. Approximately 0.5 kilometers (0.3 miles) in, you'll encounter the Temperate House, the world's largest surviving Victorian glasshouse, showcasing temperate plants from around the globe.

Continuing on, the trail leads to the Princess of Wales Conservatory, which houses ten different climate zones, ranging from dry desert to moist tropical environments. Here, you can marvel at the diverse plant life, including orchids and carnivorous plants.

Historical Landmarks and Nature

As you progress along the trail, you'll come across the Great Pagoda, built in 1762 and offering panoramic views of London from its upper levels. The trail also features the Treetop Walkway, standing 18 meters (59 feet) above the ground, providing a unique perspective of the forest canopy and the opportunity to spot local wildlife.

Kew Gardens is not only a haven for plant lovers but also a site of historical significance. The gardens date back to the 18th century and have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
