From the station, you can take a taxi or a local bus to Mereworth.
The trail begins near Mereworth Village Hall and quickly leads you into the heart of Mereworth Woods. The initial section is relatively flat, allowing you to ease into the hike. As you progress, the trail gently ascends, offering a gradual elevation gain that is manageable for most hikers.
Approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you will pass near Mereworth Castle, a stunning Palladian mansion built in the 18th century. While the castle itself is private property and not open to the public, the surrounding views are picturesque and worth a pause.
