The Horseshoe Green Loop begins at The Green on Horseshoe Lane. The initial section of the trail is relatively flat, making it an excellent warm-up as you traverse through open fields and meadows. This part of the trail is particularly scenic in spring and summer when wildflowers are in full bloom.
The trail's elevation gain is gradual, with the most significant climb occurring between the 2 km and 4 km marks. The path here becomes a bit steeper as you ascend through a series of gentle hills. The terrain is a mix of dirt paths and grassy tracks, so sturdy hiking boots are recommended.
The Horseshoe Green Loop is home to a variety of wildlife. In addition to the birds around Horseshoe Pond, you might spot rabbits, foxes, and even deer in the more secluded parts of the trail. The flora is equally diverse, with bluebells carpeting the forest floor in spring and a variety of ferns and mosses adding to the lush greenery.

The final 2 km (1.2 miles) of the loop take you through more open fields before gradually descending back to The Green. This section offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, making it a perfect spot for some final photos before completing your hike.
