The trailhead is conveniently located near the Hindley train station, which is well-served by public transport. If you're driving, you can park near the Hindley train station or in nearby residential areas.
The trail meanders through two distinct woodlands: America Wood and Borsdane Wood. Both areas are rich in natural beauty and offer a serene escape from urban life. Starting from the trailhead, you'll first enter America Wood. This section of the trail is characterized by dense foliage and a variety of tree species, including oak, beech, and ash. Keep an eye out for local wildlife; squirrels, rabbits, and a variety of bird species are commonly spotted here.
