The trail begins in the picturesque village of Chenies, known for its charming cottages and the historic Chenies Manor House. As you start your hike, you'll be greeted by the lush greenery of Chenies Wood. The initial part of the trail is relatively flat, making it a good warm-up for the more undulating sections ahead.
Approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll enter Chenies Wood. This ancient woodland is home to a variety of native trees, including oak, beech, and ash.
