Initial Ascent and Newark Park

The trail begins with a gentle ascent through the grounds of Newark Park, a Tudor hunting lodge with a rich history dating back to the 16th century. As you climb, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the Ozleworth Valley. The initial 2 km (1.2 miles) of the trail will take you through well-maintained paths surrounded by ancient woodlands, where you might spot deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species.

Boxwell Village and Surroundings

Continuing on, the trail leads you to the quaint village of Boxwell. Keep an eye out for the medieval Boxwell Church, a small but significant landmark.

Wortley and Elevation Gain

Around the 6 km (3.7 miles) mark, you'll reach Wortley, where the trail begins to ascend again. This part of the hike is more challenging, with a steady climb that adds to the overall elevation gain. Scenic Views and Return to Newark Park

The final stretch of the trail, approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) from Wortley back to Newark Park, is a mix of gentle descents and flat sections.
