To reach the trailhead, you can drive or use public transport. If driving, head towards the village of Symonds Yat, which is the nearest significant landmark. There is parking available near the Symonds Yat Rock, a popular viewpoint. For those using public transport, the nearest train station is in Lydney, from where you can take a local bus or taxi to Symonds Yat.

Starting from Symonds Yat Rock, you will be greeted with panoramic views of the Wye Valley. This viewpoint is not only a great spot for photography but also a historical site where Iron Age hill forts once stood. As you descend into Highmeadow Woods, the trail meanders through dense forest, offering a serene environment filled with the sounds of nature.
