With no significant elevation gain, it's accessible to a wide range of hikers, though it's rated as medium difficulty due to some uneven terrain and potentially muddy sections after rain.
To reach the trailhead, you can drive or use public transport. If driving, head towards Wetwang, which is easily accessible via the A166 road. Parking is available near the village center. For those using public transport, the nearest significant landmark is the Wetwang Village Hall, located at Main Street, Wetwang, Driffield YO25 9XJ. From there, it's a short walk to the trailhead.

As you set off from the trailhead, you'll immediately be immersed in the picturesque countryside of East Riding. The trail meanders through a mix of open fields and wooded areas, offering a variety of landscapes to enjoy.
Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including deer, rabbits, and a variety of bird species. The flora is equally diverse, with wildflowers dotting the fields in spring and summer, and ancient oak and beech trees providing shade in the wooded sections.
About 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll come across the remnants of ancient earthworks, believed to date back to the Iron Age. These historical features add a layer of intrigue to your hike, offering a glimpse into the region's distant past.
Around the halfway mark, approximately 3.5 km (2.2 miles) in, you'll find a lovely spot perfect for a rest or picnic. This area offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, making it an ideal place to pause and take in the scenery.
As you continue, the trail loops back towards Wetwang, passing through more open fields and offering views of the village in the distance. The final stretch is relatively flat and easy, allowing you to finish your hike on a relaxed note.
