There is parking available near the village center. For those using public transport, buses run regularly from Hull and Beverley to Walkington. The nearest bus stop is Walkington, West End, which is a short walk from the trailhead.
The trail begins near Walkington, a charming village with historical roots dating back to the Domesday Book. As you set off, you'll pass through Old Moor, an area known for its open fields and agricultural heritage. The terrain here is relatively flat, making for an easy start to your hike.
Approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) into the hike, you'll enter Folly Wood. This section of the trail is particularly enchanting, with dense woodland and a variety of native trees such as oak, ash, and beech.
