Not every walk needs to be long to be memorable. This gentle 1.2-mile circular walk is one to slow down and enjoy. Starting in the pretty village of Whorlton, it follows peaceful woodland and riverside paths to the ruins of the old ferryman's house, passes two historic fish weirs on the River Tees, and reaches the former toll house beside Whorlton Bridge before returning through the village. A short walk filled with history, beautiful scenery and quiet corners that reward those who take their time.
