For those using public transport, the nearest train station is Hope Station, which is about 2 miles (3.2 km) from the trailhead. From Hope Station, you can either take a taxi or enjoy a scenic walk to Shatton.
The trail begins near Shatton and quickly ascends towards Shatton Moor. The initial climb is gradual, allowing you to warm up as you take in the lush, rolling hills of the Derbyshire countryside. As you reach the moor, the landscape opens up, offering expansive views of the surrounding area.
