Navigation and Safety

While the trail is generally well-trodden, it's advisable to use a reliable navigation tool like HiiKER to ensure you stay on course. Weather conditions can change rapidly in the Peak District, so appropriate clothing and footwear are essential. Some sections, particularly around Chrome Hill, involve steep and uneven terrain, requiring careful footing.

Preparation Tips

• Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots with good grip are recommended due to rocky and potentially slippery sections.

• Clothing: Layered clothing is advisable to adapt to changing weather conditions.

• Supplies: Carry sufficient water and snacks, as facilities along the route are limited.

• Map and Compass: Even with digital tools, having a physical map and compass as backups is prudent.
