To reach the trailhead, you can drive or use public transport. If driving, set your GPS to Sundon Hills Country Park, located near the village of Sundon. The trail begins at the Sundon Hills Country Park car park. As you start your hike, you'll immediately notice the rolling hills and expansive views of the Bedfordshire countryside. The initial section is relatively flat, allowing you to ease into the hike.
Around 1 km (0.6 miles) into the hike, you'll start ascending Sundon Hills. This section offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including glimpses of the Chiltern Hills in the distance. The elevation gain here is gradual, making it a pleasant climb.

At approximately 3 km (1.9 miles), you'll reach the Sundon Settlement Memorial. This site commemorates the ancient settlement that once existed here. The trail is well-marked, but it's always a good idea to have a reliable navigation tool. HiiKER is an excellent app for this purpose, providing detailed maps and real-time updates. The terrain varies from grassy paths to woodland trails, so sturdy hiking boots are recommended.
As you loop back towards the starting point, the trail descends gently through a wooded area. This section is particularly scenic in autumn when the leaves change color. The final 2 km (1.2 miles) are relatively flat, allowing you to cool down as you make your way back to the car park.
