#### Victoria Lake About 1 km (0.6 miles) into the hike, you'll reach Victoria Lake. This picturesque body of water is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a peaceful spot to take a break. Keep an eye out for various bird species, including swans and ducks, which are commonly seen here. The lake is also a popular spot for local anglers.
#### GM Ringway Continuing on, the trail merges with the GM Ringway, a long-distance footpath that circles Greater Manchester. This section of the trail is more undulating, with gentle climbs and descents. The highest point of the trail is around 2.5 km (1.55 miles) in, where you'll gain approximately 50 meters (164 feet) in elevation. From here, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
