#### Birkenhead Park to Bidston Hill After leaving Birkenhead Park, the trail heads towards Bidston Hill, approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) from the start. Bidston Hill offers panoramic views of the Wirral Peninsula and the Liverpool skyline. The hill is also home to Bidston Windmill and Bidston Observatory, both of which have historical significance. The windmill dates back to 1800, while the observatory has been a center for astronomical and meteorological research since the 19th century.
#### Bidston Hill to Arrowe Country Park Continuing west, the trail leads you to Arrowe Country Park, around 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the start. This expansive park features woodlands, open meadows, and a large lake. It's an excellent spot for a rest, with picnic areas and facilities available. The park also has a rich history, having been established in the early 20th century on land donated by Lord Leverhulme.
#### Arrowe Country Park to Thurstaston Common The next significant section takes you to Thurstaston Common, approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) into the hike. This area is known for its heathland and sandstone outcrops, offering a different type of landscape compared to the earlier sections. Thurstaston Common is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to its unique flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for rare plant species and a variety of birdlife.
