Initial Urban Stretch

The walk begins in the heart of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its stunning Georgian architecture and Roman Baths. As you set off, you'll pass by iconic landmarks such as the Bath Abbey and the Pulteney Bridge, which spans the River Avon. This initial stretch is relatively flat, with no significant elevation gain, making it an easy start.

Along the River Avon

Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including swans, ducks, and occasionally kingfishers. The path here is well-maintained and mostly flat, making it accessible for hikers of all levels.

Historical Significance

As you continue along the river, you'll come across the historic Cleveland Pools, the oldest surviving outdoor swimming pool in England, dating back to 1815. Though currently under restoration, the site offers a glimpse into the recreational history of the area.
