Dramatic and awe-inspiring, the Landers Falls Lookout Walk is worth every step to reach the far-reaching views over the Kosciuszko National Park, its surrounding peaks and down to its meandering valleys below. Home to mainland Australia’s highest mountain at 2,228 metres, this beautiful alpine area is a must-see for all visiting the region, the national park offers particularly great climbing, hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife and bird watching. Considered a medium-difficulty trail, this 7 mi out-and-back walking route starts and ends at the Cumberland Trail car park in the Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales. A wild and immersive experience that usually takes around 3 – 4 hours, this walking route through the eucalypt forest leads you to two lookouts; the Talbingo lookout which sits above the park’s deep valley and overlooks the Talbingo Reservoir, and then the finale, 300 metres further to the Landers Falls lookout, boasting that fantastic view of Landers Creek Falls itself, cascading down the steep cliffs across the gorge.
