With no significant elevation gain, it is accessible to a wide range of hikers, though it is rated as medium difficulty due to some uneven terrain and potentially slippery sections.
### Getting There To reach the trailhead, you can drive or use public transport. If driving, head towards American Camp Visitor Center, located at 4668 Cattle Point Rd, Friday Harbor, WA 98250. There is ample parking available near the visitor center. For those using public transport, take a ferry to Friday Harbor from Anacortes, and then a taxi or local shuttle service to the American Camp Visitor Center.

As you start your hike, you will be walking through a landscape that has witnessed significant historical events.
### Flora and Fauna The initial part of the trail takes you through a coastal prairie, where you can spot a variety of wildflowers, especially in the spring and early summer.
