Within a national park loved for its lookouts and cascading waterfalls, don’t miss the Missingham Lookout Track walk, a 3 mi out-and-back trail that starts and ends at the Nellies Glen picnic area within the Budderoo National Park, New South Wales. This beautiful trail boasts unrivalled far-reaching views from the Missingham Lookout over Kangaroo Valley and the Carrington Falls Gorge. Graded as Difficult due to its total elevation gain of 594 ft over its short 3 miles, this trail is however generally considered as being easy to medium difficulty, although fallen trees are a common occurrence and to enjoy the park’s waterfalls at their best, it’s advised to visit during the wetter months between late summer to early autumn although this also means navigating muddy sections, a small price for the breath-taking views. For information on how we grade trails, please click here. This trail is usually completed in approx. 1 – 2 hrs, but for those looking to extend their adventure, find more nearby trails or take on the challenging Missingham Steps! Caution is advised on trail times as this depends on multiple variables. For more info, click here. There is a $12 AUD fee per vehicle per day, but only in the Minnamurra Rainforest area and dogs are not allowed in NSW national parks and reserves for the protection and conservation of the park and its wildlife.
