Trail Experience

As you embark on the Harding Beach Loop, you'll be greeted by the refreshing sea breeze and the sound of waves crashing on the shore. The trail meanders through a variety of landscapes, including sandy beaches, marshlands, and coastal dunes. The proximity to the Atlantic Ocean provides ample opportunities to spot seabirds such as terns and plovers, as well as the occasional seal basking in the sun.

The first section of the trail takes you along the beachfront, where the sand underfoot can make the walking a bit more challenging. After about 1 km (0.6 miles), the path veers away from the shoreline and into the dunes, where you'll find a mix of grasses and shrubs that are adapted to the salty, windy environment.

Flora and Fauna

The trail is a haven for nature enthusiasts, with a diverse array of plant and animal life. Navigation and Preparation

Before heading out, it's advisable to download the trail map onto your smartphone using the HiiKER app, which will help you navigate the loop with ease. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and a hat, as the open areas offer little shade and can be quite sunny during the warmer months. Also, consider the tides when planning your hike, as certain sections of the beach may be more accessible at low tide.
