Following the path taken by St. Kevin on his way to solitude and prayer, this is a popular trail for the spirituous and religious alike. Starting in the village of Hollywood, County Wicklow it crosses the Wicklow Gap, a high mountain pass, to finish some 30 km later in the beautiful glacial valley of Glendalough, at the ruins of the medieval monastic settlement created by St. Kevin in the 6th century. Of moderate difficulty, elevation change is just under 2000 ft, this hike takes a day to complete. The trail passes through private land with livestock at times, dogs are therefore not allowed on this trail. Car parking spaces in Hollywood are limited.
