This is a 11.7km loop trail near to Glenmalure in County WIcklow. Rated as moderate to difficult, be prepared for some steep climbing, especially beside the waterfall. Once at the top though the 360° view from the summit of Lugnaquilla, Ireland’s 11th highest peak, makes the effort worth it. Visibility can become severely reduced in bad weather so go prepared and good boots are a must. Dogs are allowed on this trail but should be kept on a lead, there are often deer roaming. The route can get rather crowded on weekends so go on a weekday if you are able.
