An out and back trail of 7.1 km and rated as moderate, the Sgilloges Walk in County Waterford takes you on the lower slopes of the Comeraugh Mountains to the Sgilloge Loughs, two permanent lakes found in the stunning Nire Valley, which give the trail its name. The trail starts from the Nire Valley Car Park, the nearest town to it is Ballymacarbry. A well signed, hiking boots are advised as there are some stony climbs. This is a remote and peaceful area, with often only the sound of sheep to be heard. Dogs are not allowed here and the trail is not suitable for pushchairs.
