A 6 km out and back trail, starting from Kilcash Community Hall, near Kilsheelan in County Tipperary. The Slievenamon, or Mountain of the Women as it is also known as, is mainly a hiking and running trail, taking you to the summit of this 2,333 ft mountain. Rated as strenuous to difficult; it is fairly steep in places, but the panoramic views from the top on a clear day make all the effort worthwhile. Be warned though the clouds come and go very quickly here. This is a popular trail and can get quite busy, especially in the spring and summer when there are also many wildflowers to be seen. Dogs, on a lead are permitted.
