Starting in Slievemore, this 4.5 km linear trail which takes around 1.5 hours to complete and uses an old unpaved road passing by the rather haunting Deserted Village on the slopes of Slievemore Mountain. This is a group of about 80 cottages in varying states of ruin, dating from at least the 19th century, maybe even from medieval times. The trail then goes through bogland before finishing in Archill. This is a sheep farming area so dogs are not permitted on the trail but it is suitable for sturdy pushchairs. A linear trail, park at the Deserted Village and then arrange transport back from Archill or retrace your steps.
