### Trail Highlights
#### Wegelnburg Castle Approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you will encounter the ruins of Wegelnburg Castle. Perched at an elevation of 570 meters (1,870 feet), this castle offers panoramic views of the surrounding Palatinate Forest and the Vosges Mountains. Built in the 12th century, Wegelnburg is the highest castle ruin in the Palatinate region.
