Shining Tor, Whetstone Ridge & Shutlingsloe Loop

A fantastic 12 mile circular route starting at the free car park at Macclesfield Forest.

Gorgeous views and 3 Ethels to bag. This route has it all. Valleys, Trig Points, 360 degree views (on a clear day) and waterfalls.

Waterproof boots advised as there is a slight water crossing and now the rain is heading it is certainly getting soggy and boggy underfoot. currently the fungi are giving the best display ever. We did make a few side quests to get a good photo.

Please note there is a river crossing at the foot of Shutlingsloe that is closed. You can stick to the road and walk round. Don't be a little rebel like me. Enjoy! This is a goodie.
