An excellent coastal hike taking in the dramatic white cliffs and surrounding Kent countryside. On a warm but breezy spring day, the views across the Channel were crystal clear—with the French coastline visible on the horizon, which always adds something a bit special.

There are moments along the cliff edge that will test your nerves slightly, so perhaps not one for those uneasy with heights—but it definitely adds to the sense of adventure.

The route itself is varied, with a mix of terrain and elevation throughout, so a dry day makes a noticeable difference underfoot. Along the way, you pass an eclectic mix of homes and even the occasional honesty stall selling local jams, which gives it a really charming, local feel.

There’s also the option to stop off at a pub or café, with the final stretch bringing you into Dover for a well-earned coffee.

Overall, a fantastic walk—around 90% pure coastal scenery with just a short town section at the end. A strong 4.5/5 and one I’d happily recommend.
