A great walk but be aware of the recent changes to Lathkill Dale itself. I tackled this on a day where the temperature topped out at 32 degrees C. I walk looking forward to the protection of the trees in the Dale from the sun as I walked along the river but as soon as you descend in to the Dale you will see and experience the change following Ash die back felling. This made the majority of the Dale quite exposed to the sun and very hot as there was no breeze. The river is accessible at many points for cooling water but was very low due to the lack of rain in the 2nd quarter of 2026.
