Mount Revelstoke National Park is located in southeastern British Columbia, Canada, within the Selkirk Mountains. The park is near the town of Revelstoke and is easily accessible from the Trans-Canada Highway. It is roughly 210 kilometers west of Banff and 410 kilometers northeast of Vancouver. Established in 1914, Mount Revelstoke National Park was created to protect the unique subalpine and temperate rainforest ecosystems of the area. The park is famous for its scenic beauty and the meandering Meadows in the Sky Parkway, which leads visitors from the town of Revelstoke to the summit of Mount Revelstoke, offering stunning panoramic views. Parking facilities are located throughout the park, including at trailheads and viewpoints. The primary parking area is at the base of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway, where visitors begin their drive to the summit. There are additional parking lots at various points along the parkway, though space may be limited during peak times. Entry fees are required for park access and can be paid at the park gates. The park is home to a wide range of wildlife, including black bears, grizzly bears, mountain caribou, moose, and marmots. Birds such as the varied thrush, boreal owl, and American dipper are commonly seen in the area. Mount Revelstoke is a habitat for diverse flora, including towering western red cedars, Douglas firs, alpine meadows blanketed with wildflowers, and lush understory plants like devil’s club and ferns. Notable features within the park include the summit of Mount Revelstoke, the Meadows in the Sky, and the Giant Cedars Boardwalk. Public transportation options are limited, and most visitors arrive by private vehicle. However, shuttle services are occasionally available during peak seasons, and Revelstoke serves as the primary hub for accessing the park.
