Badgingarra National Park is located in Western Australia, approximately 200 kilometers north of Perth. It sits within the Wheatbelt region, near the town of Badgingarra, and is accessible via the Brand Highway. The closest towns are Badgingarra itself and Dandaragan, with larger nearby towns like Moora and Jurien Bay also within a short driving distance. Established in 1973, Badgingarra National Park was created to protect the region’s unique biodiversity, especially its rich array of wildflowers and native flora. The park is particularly important for preserving this delicate ecosystem and serves as a vital habitat for many native species. Parking facilities in the park are fairly basic but sufficient for visitors. There are a couple of designated parking areas near popular walking trails and lookouts, though space is limited. There are no parking fees, and visitors are advised to follow posted guidelines to ensure the preservation of natural areas and avoid damage to vegetation. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including kangaroos, echidnas, and numerous bird species such as the Western Corella and Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo, both of which are notable due to their conservation status. Reptiles like the Western Blue-tongue Lizard can also be spotted. Badgingarra’s flora is equally diverse, featuring species such as banksias, hakeas, and dryandra, many of which bloom in stunning displays of color during the spring. The park is renowned for its wildflower season, attracting nature enthusiasts from around the country. Notable landmarks within the park include Badgingarra Hill, offering scenic views of the surrounding landscape, and several walking trails that allow visitors to explore the region’s biodiversity. Public transport to the park is limited, and the best way to reach it is by car.
