We dropped cars at the layby just outside Llanvetherine on the B4521 and headed to Skenfrith Castle for the start. Parking here is free but there are no facilities. From here we headed out Anti Clockwise to Grosmont taking in both the Church and Castle here. It also made a good place for lunch. The next part of the route is an undulating slog up through Craig Syfyrddin past Edmunds Tump and back down to the lower levels. The route is a mix of footpath, tracks and roads. Todays weather was perfect and whilst dropping down to Pont Brook, we had amazing views of the Bannau Brycheiniog - Brecon Beacons - National Park, back into Herefordshire and further beyond.
