We met and started from a busier than normal Black Hill Car Park and Picnic site, free but no facilities other than bushes!
From here we headed NW directly up the Cats Back to the Trig on Black Hill, the highest point in Herefordshire at 640m.
You cant really go wrong on this path as it follows the ridge right over until it meets the Offas Dyke Footpath at Llech y Lladron and then continuing on to the Hay Bluff Trig at 677m.
With the weather now picking up, we dropped off steeply just off the back of Hay Bluff and contoured round to meet the Offas Dyke Path & Three Rivers Ride and then the Bridleway running back around under the ridge and back to the car park.
Holding my hands up and because i was chatting. I did miss the turning South West at Daniels Place and continued on the road. Once i recognised this we simply continued on till just past the pub to regain the Bridalway (good to have a variation)
