We set off from the NT car park bus stop in Seatoller on the open top bus to Keswick. This cost was £3 per person and dogs are permitted free. Having pre booked our Walkers Launch tickets yesterday (£6.30pp one way) from Keswick Hause End we had a little time to pop into Booths and also grab a coffee. We started today's route from Seathwaite Farm. Parking here is £5 all day. There is free parking available on the road leading to the farm but for convenience we took this option. From the Farm we headed up to Stockley Bridge, through Greenhow Knott and handrailed Styhead Gill up to the Emergency Strecher. We then headed East and South East up past sprinkling tarn to Esk Hause where we then turned SW around Broad Crag and up to Scafell Pike. This section is blocky and extremely undulating, often loosing height by more than 60m before climbing back up again. It's a bit of a slog through that final few KMs but good to finally get on the top even though the clagg was down. We could have waited for it to clear, as the forecast was for a short time of clear skies. But with the Yew Tree calling (those that know will know) we didn't hang about! The route off was great. We seemed t be much of quicker over the boulders and dropped via Ruddy Gill on the way off. This is very pretty and for those of you who like a dip then this is as good as the Watkin path on Snowdon!
