For those driving, you can park at the Blue Mountain Lakes Road parking area. If you're using public transport, the nearest bus stop is in Sussex County, from where you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the trailhead.
The trail begins with a gentle walk through a mixed hardwood forest, featuring oak, maple, and birch trees. The forest floor is often carpeted with ferns and wildflowers, especially in the spring and early summer. - 2.5 km (1.6 miles): At the halfway point, you'll reach a scenic overlook that provides a panoramic view of the surrounding forest and distant hills. This is an excellent spot for a break and some photography.
The trail is rich in biodiversity. In addition to the bird species mentioned earlier, you might spot white-tailed deer, eastern chipmunks, and even the occasional black bear. The flora includes a variety of wildflowers such as trilliums and violets, which bloom in the spring.
